Bear Box House

The Vermont Bear Box House is a new high efficiency, volumetric, single family house.  What began as an idea for a shipping container home can still be felt in the arrangement of intersecting, stacked, volumes.  Programatic ideas, matched to plain forms, create intimate outdoor spaces separated from surrounding wilderness through adjacency and elevation.  A second floor roof deck provides views of the surrounding mountains.  Kitchen windows frame panoramic views of the immediate treed landscape.
